MARTIAL ARTS AND WEIGHTLIFTING

Some martial artists do not want to lift weights because they think that this will make their techniques slow. The truth is, it will if weightlifting exercises are not done correctly. If they are, they are going to be a perfect addition to the strength training.

Now, first, let me say something about the correlation between muscles and body. Why muscles are so important for the body and what are the pros and cons of having a lot of muscle mass on your body?

- Muscles support your whole body. This is very important for the spine, especially when you lift heavy loads. Muscles on the upper body will protect the spine from being hurt, but, muscles have their own limits too.

- They protect the bones and joints when you run, jump, walk, and do other activities. They act as shock absorbers. Bones, in the other hand hold the muscles in position where they can function normally and do their job.

- Muscles are obviously the source of your physical strength, and mass does matter here.

- Muscles also protect the bones from the outer influences and injuries. It hurts more when you hit the part of your body with no muscles on the bone, than it hurts when you hit the muscle.

All these facts say that having a lot of muscle on your body is useful. It is.

But, when it comes to martial arts, more muscle does not mean that you will be a better martial artist. Yes, you will knock the man out if you hit him with all that muscle power, but he can also hit you, and he will knock you out too. So, the point here is that muscle size does not matter when it comes to hitting somebody in the sensitive area like the chin.

More muscle, like I said, will protect your body from blows, punches and kicks, but, more muscle will slow you down, generally, and it will slow your punching and kicking techniques down too. Making your biceps and triceps huge will make your punches slow. Making your quadriceps huge will make your legs slow.

But, working with weights is not bad if you do it the right way and follow these simple rules:

- Do exercises that include more muscle groups at the same time.
- Do low weight exercises,
- Do them with high intensity,
- Do high reps.

Barbell exercises are the best way to work on more muscle groups at the same time. You need to work on muscle groups that are the source of a powerful punch and a kick. Work on your core, back, chest and legs.

Look for CrossFit type exercises. They combine muscle groups in such a way that when you do these exercises, you are actually working on your whole body at the same time. This will not make you look like a professional bodybuilder but for martial arts, it is just the type of weight training your body needs and trust me, you will gain pure physical and explosive strength fast, without getting slow and stiff. Just search for these exercises on internet.

Make sure that you warm up before you start your workout and stretch throughout and at the end of your workout.

KUJI KIRI-Basics of breathing Part 1

Breathing is the foundation of life. We can live without water and food for a certain amount of time, but if we do not breath, we will die in a very short time period. The breathing itself has a lot of effect on the way we live, quality and the length of our life.

Very rapid and shallow breathing can tell us that the person breathing that way is in poor physical condition, has a lot of daily stress and that her biochemical balance in the body is not balanced at all. These persons may end up having weight problems, nervous breakdowns over daily stress situations and even heart problems. Rapid breathing leads to rapid heart rate, and over time the heart just might start beating like crazy for nothing, in the middle of the street, with no obvious reason. This is called heart arrhythmia.

For a long life, breathe deeply and slowly.

For power, breath with power.

To take positive energy, breath deeply and slowly, and imagine the energy pouring into you.
Ninjas have known this for a long time. They have known that different types of breathing can affect the psychochemical balance in the body, and produce various effects. With these brething techniques and a lot of practice, ninjas can unlock the mysteries of the 90% of our brain we do not use in our daily life. They can tap into our internal energy sources, the force that gives life to the body and use it.

It is hard to get to the point where you can call upon this force and use it when you find it necessary. Ninjas train hard and with discipline every dan for a very, very long time to gain this ability. Once the unlock the mysteries of their mind and body, they can call it in the time of need, and use it to protect themselves.

We have 3 types of breathing:

- Neutral breathing,
- Positive breathing
- Negative breathing

We will use all 3 types of breathing in our KUJI KIRI exercises.

SURVIVE A STREET FIGHT!!!!

All those fancy kicks and punches you can see on TV are not going to help you in a real fight where you might be fighting for your life.

I am not saying that they are useless against somebody who does not know how to fight, but can you take that chance?
You might have another black belt in front of you, or a krav maga master.
They will not put up with your flying, spinning kicks. They will nail you to the ground and you are done.

That is why you need to forget slow high kicks, wide kung fu punches, or karate spinning uraken- uchi punches.
They will get you in trouble. What you need are punches and kicks wich are ACCURATE, FAST, POWERFUL.

What you need to do is stick with the boxing techniques, low kicks and front thrusting kicks (mae geri).

Boxing techniques are short, powerful, fast and accurate.

Low kicks are good, because nobody really expects you to go for his legs, these kicks make serious damage and can make your opponent think about his legs and give you the chance to go for his face! (I will do a complete article on low kicks or gedan mavashi geri kicks in karate)

Front thrusting kick (mae geri) is good because it is the fastest kick you can deliver and it pushes your opponent away from you.

These were the techniques you need to use to defend yourself.
Once your opponent is on his knees, barely standing or just hurt, you can use some of those fancy kicks and show off for the girls. :P

Now, these were the techniques, but they will not help you if you are not fast enough to HIT FIRST!
Remember, if your opponent hits you first, it will probably mean that you loose and that you are going to end up being in stitches, with broken bones, maybe stabbed, raped, dead or you are just going to wake up somewhere in the forest without your kidneys.

So, these are the rules that will help you survive the firs few seconds of a fight. Those few seconds might be enogh for a martial artist to land one punch or a kick that will end the fight, or for a lady to escape.

1. Do not hesitate. ACT!

On the first sign of agression - ACT! Kick him, punch him, use your fingers, fists, jacket or a purse you have in your hand. If you are close, him in the face with your forehead and follow with an elbow. Do you get my point?

2. Go for his face!

Once you act, go for his face. This will make him respond with a reflex and it will block his sight. He will close his eyes and move back for a second. Enough for you to land a serious kick or a punch.

3. It is OK to go for his genital organs!

STREET FIGHT HAS NO RULES! To survive, you need to use all his weak points against him. Eyes, neck, genitals... If he is stronger than you, go for it....

4. Use everything as a weapon!

Remember, a weapon is just a tool. It has different shapes. It does not have to be a katana or a gun. It can be an umbrella, dish, chair, bottle, telephone, microwave, anything that can hurt your opponent and save you!

Remember these rules, they might save your life one day!

KUJI KIRI Introduction

On this Blog I will explain the secret ninja technique called KUJI KIRI. This technique was a secret for centuries. It is based on the ability of a ninja to control his mind, and yes, it can be done.
If you want to put it in science explenation, ninjas use the effect that is created by reducing or increasing the amount of oxygen we breath in.Combine that with the Pavlov effect, you get KUJI KIRI. I will explain later.

Secrets Of Martial Arts


Some poeople say that ninjas had superpowers, some say they never existed. Could they really run as fast as the wind? Could they walk and make no sound? Could they blend with their enviroment? Could they predict the attack before it happens?

There is truth behind these myths. There is truth, but also a lot of psychology and science. I will reveal it ALL!

HISTORY
Feudal Japan. The place you do not want to visit. The age of the samurai and the age of the ninja warriors. Samurai, living their lives and fighting their way for honor. Dying for honor. Always looking their enemies in the eyes and taking their own lives when they loose a battle. Life filled with principles and discipline.

Ninjas were always surrounded with mystery. They kill before their victim even knows they are there. Fast, accurate, silent, deadly ghosts. They value life above everything else. They will never do anything to jeopardize their own life. They value peace. They value harmony. Thay value love. They do not fight unless it is necessary. When they do, they fight, and when the fight is over, they do not look back.

Two totaly different cultures.

We've known ninjas to use all kinds of weapons, throwing stars (shuriken), swords, daggers, poisons and firearms. Ninjas use whatever is close and can be used as a weapon. Their style is to always adapt to the enviroment, be one with the enviroment, make her even fight their battles for them, if possible. Why is this? It is because a ninja has to be able to fight even when he is on a mission with no weapons at all. One cannot move fast and stay silent and invisible while carrying an arsenal of weapons. That is why to practice ninjutsu you do not need anything else but your body. One great ninja master said :" A naked man, in an empty room, can practice ninjutsu."

Ninjutsu was created by oppressed people of the feudal Japan. It was created to save lives and it was practiced in secrecy. That is how the way of ninjutsu was preserved.

To practice ninjutsu, you need to open your mind and set it free. Believe that the power of Will can make everything come true. Will can give you strength, wisdom, speed. It can help you puth the thoughts you want in other person's head, it can heal you, stop you from bleading to death, it can make you invisible.
The only thing you need to do is BELIEVE!
This is not science fiction.... This is just science.... It is called KUJI KIRI
